đGame Modes
Welcome to the Arcade!
The Modes
Any good game needs different modes of gameplay to stay fresh. Arcadian Tales has a few:
Solo Expeditions - Short daily adventures - a scenario, a choice, and a roll.
Exploration - An in-game world to traverse and explore.
Combat - ...Which does not exist yet. But it will.
Community Events - Manually-run Discord events.
The following sections describe each game mode in detail, but Solo Expeditions are the most established mode. Exploration is present, but incomplete. Combat is... in progress.
If you look carefully through the Roadmap, you will notice the features that exist and those that are in progress. Combat is one of them, as is Crafting. (There may even be more that are not listed.) But you will have to be patient with those.
The cooldown
(or !cd
) command is very helpful. It will show all of the current game modes and their cooldowns in a quick and easy display.
Community Events
While not technically a bot game mode, Events are frequently held on the Discord. These vary in scale and intricacy, but they typically involve a fair amount of rolling d20 dice.
The prizes from these Events have historically included ARC and various NFTs (especially some of the nice Collab ones).
Some examples:
đ Boss Raids - The community teams up to fight a boss monster by rolling for various stats. The total rolls are tallied up as damage, and ARC is distributed accordingly.
đ˛ Dice Duels - Single elimination brackets where players roll the dice against their opponent to climb the ranks, earning ARC and other rewards based on their final standing.
đĨ Contests - Several day-long contests where the winner earns a nice NFT (previously: Fighting Fish, 2tinyhorse, SK8 deck). Daily events include choices, rolling, and writing prompts.
âē Campaigns - Only one has been held thus far, but players engage in a week-long event, like a dungeon crawl. Rolling various stats, puzzling, and earning ARC / Cards based on performance.
In short, these are fun and worthwhile. We're always innovating new and creative events, so keep your eyes peeled. Typically, these are held about once a month, on varying scales.
